The UGC NET exam comprises two papers:

And the candidate who passed the exam with this tag "Qualified for Ph.D. only" can take admission in any Universities in India without appearing in Entrance Exam. This score card will expire after one year. If the candidate fails to take admission within one year he/she needs to achieve the same score card or NET and JRF.
Qualifying for Ph.D Only is a score card you can not work as a Assistant Professor.
